DIAMESIC - 5th Intersteno conference on parliamentary and court reporting, captioning, and accessibility

During the 20th and 21st centuries, the world has undergone technical, scientific and technological turns. At the dawn of the fourth industrial revolution, disciplines have, today, all been potentially fusing thanks to these turns across the related professional fields. In this context, traditional parliamentary and court reporting has more and more merged with more recent professions like conference interpreting and TV captioning, mainly thanks to accessibility, which has been widening the scope of transparency in the digital era; and with the advent of Covid-19 pandemic, which has forced many professionals in the world to work from remote.

With the twofold aim of keeping track of this hybridisation phenomenon and the spreading of the most significant experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, the IPRS and the Intersteno Scientific Committee are pleased to call for contributions at "DIAMESIC - 5th Intersteno Conference on parliamentary and court reporting, captioning, and accessibility" to be held face to face and online in Maastricht on 9th August 2022, at the 53rd Intersteno Congress.

The main topics of the Conference will revolve around the notions of court and parliamentary reporting, captioning and accessibility, considered as one bigger discipline, with a special focus on:

• technological challenges of parliamentary and court reporting, captioning, and accessibility;
• editorial challenges of parliamentary and court reporting, captioning, and accessibility;
• physical challenges of parliamentary and court reporting, captioning, and accessibility;
• digital challenges of parliamentary and court reporting, captioning, and accessibility;
• professional challenges of parliamentary and court reporting, captioning, and accessibility;
• other related topics.
